I have been on a self-assigned reading program of speculative fiction written by women and focusing on social structures and gender. In part, this is research for my work-in-progress (that is, I am identifying comparative books as well as seeing how other authors have approached the topic and the science). After sharing a social media post about this endeavor, I was invited to discuss the novel Ammonite, by Nicola Griffith, on the podcast Bookmarked.
